Hey folks, I've been talking with job board owners recently about trends we're observing in the recruiting world. One major take-away:
Auto-Apply Tools Are Everywhere!
.. and are really starting to impact internal recruiting teams // overwhelming with # of applicants
(you know, the tools that allow job-seekers to apply to 100's of jobs every day, automatically)
We've actually considered building this within product.jobs, and haven't written it off completely given the strong momentum of these tools. However we're seeing them create a real bottleneck within internal recruiting teams. One job search I recently helped with had 500 applications within 24 hours after posting the role (it was a standard tech customer support role!).
How do you stand out among this noise?
Reach out to the recruiter, and the hiring manager for the role! Introduce yourself!
Your chances of short-circuiting to interview stage will definitely, certainly increase. Very few candidates take the time to connect with the hiring manager, but so much of recruiting is relationship building. Make it easy for the recruiting team.
A+ Product Exec Looking For New Role!
A colleague of mine is searching for a new head of product or product exec role, and I wanted to run an experiment here - let's feature their profile below for any hiring teams searching for a product exec!
Please reply directly to this email and I'll make an intro!
Cheers y'all!
